Welcome to Isle of Mull Yoga: Retreats, Workshops, Classes
Escape from the frenetic pace of the world and reconnect with your inner nature on the picturesque Isle of Mull. We hold regular weekly classes, workshops and yoga & meditation retreats on Mull and Iona. You’ll be immersed in the beauty and peace of the Inner Hebridean islands, you’ll practise yoga, learn to meditate & enjoy nutritious vegetarian meals. There’ll be time to go walking along the spectacular coastline, take a boat trip, draw, paint & read or simply sit and be.
We are holding four Yoga and Meditation Retreats in 2018. Each retreat is 7 nights residential full board.
Our May and September retreats are based at Taigh Foise,
a beautiful eco-house on a working croft, a few miles from the Iona ferry.
In June our base will be Calgary Arts Centre in northwest Mull.
Our October retreat is at the Iona Hostel at the remote north end of the island.
All the retreats are suitable for beginners & those with more experience. Individual bookings and groups are welcome. Places are limited to 6 people at Kintra, 7 - 10 at Calgary and 10 on Iona. You can book your place with a PayPal deposit or email Zoe for more details. You can also follow us on Facebook .
About Isle of Mull Yoga
Yoga is a gentle exercise which tones and revitalises the body while relaxing the mind and spirit. Practise will make your body supple and healthy, increase your self confidence and reveal a deep sense of inner peace. My teaching style puts the emphasis on carefully alignment in classic postures, breathing practices and relaxation techniques. I often bring in elements of pilates and chi gong.
The main purpose is to find that balance between effort and relaxation,
focussing the mind for meditation and freeing your spirit to experience bliss.
About your teacher : Zoë Heald
I’ve been studying yoga for 23 years, starting in the early 90's in Japan! I began teaching on Mull and Iona over 8 years ago, having moved up here from London for a new life. Having said that, I do still love city life and now find a balance between my peaceful existence on the Ross of Mull and visits to the city. My family have lived on Mull for 30 years, so having a personal knowledge of the area, I can show you some of the hidden gems of Mull and Iona.
My style of teaching encompasses all my experience and training - Sivananda, Satyananda, British Wheel of Yoga. I bring an emphasis to breathwork and relaxation in my classes. Students are taught correct alignment and with experience are able to find this intuitively. Ultimately, I want to guide my students to finding that ineffable sense of rightness and inner peace that comes from whole-hearted yoga practice.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with the UK Yoga Alliance.
